I am a proud member of the Newnan Cougar Football Team. When I injured my knee I immediately came to Georgia Bone & Joint. The physicians and the staff at Georgia Bone & Joint are part of our Cougar Family. They are always there for us. They come to our games, pull for us to win and always provide the best of treatment when we are injured. I can’t say enough about the excellent treatment I received at Georgia Bone & Joint. Dr. Jack Powell is my doctor. I am on my way to healing and look forward to a great season next year. I want to thank Georgia Bone & Joint for all they do for the Newnan Cougar Football team.
I am so blessed to have Georgia Bone & Joint take care of me and my family’s orthopaedic needs. Through the years, I have come to a great appreciation of these outstanding physicians and their staff. They combine the highest standards of their profession with great concern for their patients. They bring a commitment to excellence to every opportunity they have to improve the quality of life for the patient. Through the years I have been impressed by their involvement in our community. As retired Chaplain of the Newnan Cougars, I have been privileged to stand on the sidelines with them as they provide the finest orthopaedic care for our high school athletes. Their concern for the community is evidenced by their strong support of the Samaritan Clinic. Each physician of Georgia Bone & Joint is very involved in making our community a great place to live. When you need orthopaedic care, I encourage you to come to Georgia Bone & Joint.
Successful ACL Surgery Leads to Championship Performance!!! Sydney Aronson, Team Captain and Impact Player of the year at LaGrange College, had a major setback when she tore her ACL during her senior year of high school. Thanks to hard work, dedication, and a committed orthopaedic surgical team at Georgia Bone and Joint, Sydney is stronger than ever and back in the game! My name is Sydney Aronson. I am 20 years old and a sophomore at LaGrange College. I have played soccer for sixteen years. It is a sport that I feel very passionate about. In high school, I was captain of my traveling team at Concorde Fire Soccer Club and was recruited from that club to play for LaGrange College. At the end of my senior year, while playing in a tournament, I tore both my ACL and MCL. Within four days, Dr. Mike Gruber did surgery to repair both. My experience with his team was phenomenal. They were kind and truly interested in my recovery and my return to soccer. I informed them of my intent to play in college and they worked with me to achieve my goal. I worked with a physical therapist, Kristi Buck, who took control of my rehabilitation. Dr. Gruber pushed me to get out of my initial brace and get moving as soon as possible. I had my surgery in December and just seven months later was ready for team camp at college. My freshman year, I started in 19 of 20 matches and played most of them for the entire game. I was named “Impact Player of the Year and was Academic All Conference.”
After the season, Dr. Gruber did surgery again to clean up a little scar tissue. I recovered quickly and trained across the summer. This year, my sophomore season, I started in all 20 games and played most or all of each game. It is difficult even when you have not had surgery to play an entire 90 minute game, but I was able to because my knee has healed so well. Of all the girls I know playing at the college level, I have recovered the quickest. Any time that I have had an issue or even a slight injury in a game, Dr. Gruber has seen me, done an examination, and made suggestions for the quickest possible recovery. I am able to run to maintain fitness and I play or train for soccer 4 to 5 days per week. This year my coach has asked me to be team captain. It is such an honor and one that I do not take for granted. I appreciate everything that GBJ has done to help me achieve my goals as a student athlete. I won Impact Player of the Year, I am now a team captain, I have been Academic All Conference for both years, I am in the Phi Mu Sorority where I am the intramural chair, and I am a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi.
